Microsoft SchoolServer project
I'm currently working for Microsoft Belux on the SchoolServer project, a piece of software which runs on top of Windows Server 2003 to improve the manageability of the IT infrastructure in schools dramatically. Features include the automatic provisioning of the Active Directory (and the file/share structure) with accounts for students, teachers and staff members, blocking of internet access, end-of-the-year migration tools, automated setup of the client pc's (using RIS), Terminal Services for older clients running Windows 9x or NT 4, and much more. The setup and configuration of Windows Server 2003 will be dramatically simple thanks to wizards guiding you through the process.
Currently we're in a beta 2 stage, more news will become available when we're preparing beta 3 and the RC (and RTM) of the product. Our current goal is to ship the tools somewhere in Q2 of 2004.
